Branding: Imagine Iowa Great Lakes “Imagi-nation”

the task

I was a part of the team that created all the branding for the Imagine Iowa Great Lakes or #ImagineIGL project, a philanthropic beautification effort. I created this branding scheme for “Imagi-NATION” of supporters for the project.

results

Project managers wanted a design in keeping with the original branding, with a subtle differentiation they could put on shirts for donors and community supporters. I used a subtle color gradient to denote the word “nation.”

Branding: Acadia Parish, Louisiana

the task

Acadia Parish in Louisiana contracted my previous firm to create several logo options.

results

Drawing inspiration from Louisiana state heritage, agricultural interests, and location-specific imagery, I created several options that were whittled down to three. The first was chosen and adopted as the parish logo.

Branding: “Iowa South” Region

the task

A group of economic development officials for a ten county region of Iowa, along with Indian Hills Community College, hired my former firm to create a brand and marketing campaign for the region.

results

After several focus groups, qualitative and quantitative research, and months of feedback and brand refinement, the term “Iowa South” was coined. I created a logo, as well as a complete set of brand standards as a jumping off point. This long-term economic development plan is still in its infancy due to setbacks from COVID-19.

Tasked with explaining the Federal Paycheck Protection Program rolled out in response to the COVID pandemic, I worked with a colleague who narrated a short script as I illustrated.
